     First on the list is to say thank-you to Past President Dianna for all that she has done for the Senate during her successful year as our president.  She has been wonderful in sharing and preparing me for my year.  I'm sure that she will be someone that I will be able to count on in the future for guidance when needed.

     We have many new Senators that have accepted to make a difference.  What a great opportunity for the future of the Senate.
     Before I go any further, I would like to say thank-you to all of you for accepting your positions.  As we know this is only the beginning of a successful year, we have many activities, fund-raisers, and meetings to attend to complete our year.  Watch the Filibuster and website for the dates and info on them.
     As for myself, I find it hard to believe that this day has come to serve as your 38^th President.  A few years back I had made a deal with a certain someone that I would serve as the President of the Michigan Senate when he was our Region VP.  I wonder who that might be.
