SENATORS NEVER FORGET, EH
UP TO MY EARS IN ELEPHANT DUNG

   That's my excuse - what's yours. We all have excuses for not meeting our commitments, not attending meetings and often being late. But, they are often just excuses because we have so many daily pressures on our lives that it's often easier to do nothing.
   We're lucky in Michigan that we have a core of dedicated Senators who meet their commitments and turn up at all events, so without much effort, Michigan usually has successful participation and continues to be one of the most active Senate groups.
   Just think, however, how much better we could be if people said "I will attend" rather that finding excuses to be somewhere else. I wish I could motivate those Senators who live in Michigan, but don't join the Michigan Senate. Often, however, the excuse I hear is no one asked me to join. That's why Russ' Call Girls have been so successful, because we make personal contact and provide encouragement and get great response.
   In the coming months, many of you could help by making a call to a Senate friend and encourage them to join. Please don't make excuses. Yours in the Senate Spirit,
