| It seems that it
was just a moment ago, when Senator Dick Small turned over the reins of an active Michigan
Senate. We did our best to move things forward by promoting service to Jaycees and
fellowship among those who had been honored by their chapters with the highest honor a
chapter can give - a JCI Senatorship! With over 150 active members, the 1976-77 Michigan Senate was ranked as the second largest state organization in the US JCI Senate. A Senate Hospitality Room was provided at each State Board Meeting and a Mystery Handshake program for First-Timers to give a free registration to the next State Meeting to the new Jaycee who introduced himself to the Mystery Senator at the Friday Night Party. Senator Don Ludwig did a great job in hosting the Senate Golf Outing at Summer Board in Muskegon and Winter board in Wyoming featured the solemn "Burial of Peter the Great". |

| The Michigan Senate
played a large role in the success of the Party Booth at the 32nd Annual JCI World
Congress in St. Louis Mo. The 2,400 delegates from throughout the world came away
knowing that Michigan Hospitality is unmatched anywhere in the world! Vice
President, Bill Martin, led the group that took hot dogs, Pinconning cheese and Stroh's
beer into the heart of Busch country. The scarlet baseball caps that the booth
workers wore became the most sought after trading item at the World Congress! I want to express my deep appreciation and gratitude to the Senate officers and area coordinators who made 1976-77 such a marvelous time.
